I was asked the other day by a friend how could he get audio files out of a Powerpoint Show presentation. Having just created a presentations for the ASCCA AGM with a number of audio files I took the obvious path of opening powerpoint and looking for an editing option. None exist. After a lot of pondering I went to my friend Google for the answer, and came up with the link below. The basis of the method is to save the presentation as an htm or html file. In doing so a sub folder is created with the same file name, but containing all of the associated files required by the presentation. To get the audio, open the sub folder and copy or play the audio files.

During the past few years Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) has been approached on a number of occasions by constituents who have voiced their confusion about the complexity of the telecommunications industry. Problems have particularly arisen at the time when women with disabilities are making purchase choices, especially when trying to get information about mobile phone handsets. Many women with disabilities are on low incomes, and cannot afford to make errors in choosing a phone and a phone payment plan which will suit their needs. At the same time, they place great value on their mobile phones as a means of getting assistance in an emergency or for general security. In 2008, in response to these dilemmas faced by consumers with disabilities, WWDA developed “Phone-glish – a short dictionary of mobile communication in Australia”, which we trust will also assist you to better understand the world of mobile phones and networks. To undertake this project, WWDA was supported by the Australian Government through the Telecommunications Consumer Representations Grants Program of the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. The Phone-glish Dictionary was developed by Louise and Bob Bannister for Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA). Copyright WWDA 2008.
